Happy Fourth of July!
Every Fourth of July I find myself reflecting on the American Dream.
Regardless of our country's problems, I'm so thankful to live in a country that works on those problems, that's free to speak about those problems, and that's built on an ethos of hope.
Thank you to all of you college students who have served.
I hope you have a bright and wonderful holiday.
Sincerely,
Isa

Happy Fourth of July/Thanksgiving
Happy Fourth of July! For me, this year more than ever, the Fourth of July feels like Thanksgiving as I reflect on how grateful I am to live here.
When I hear of the struggles of motivated undocumented students, it breaks my heart and reminds me that citizenship in this country is such a privilege - one those of us born into it rarely appreciate.
Despite our many problems, today I am so unbelievably thankful to live in a place with free K-12 education, a constitution we can return to in order to strive for true equality, and a country that believes in creativity.
I realize now more than ever that it is an incredible gift, and the best way to appreciate it, is to share it. I hope we can continue to share our gifts so that others can be given the opportunity to share their gifts with us.
Happy Fourth of July! I hope you have an incredible day and sparkly, grateful night.
